Taller Guaguarey created a new pottery class titled Cerámica en barro para niños for children aged 7 to 12 who live in Cayey and neighboring towns. The class is designed to provide a safe and productive environment for self-expression and creativity. The children sculpted simple faces, beautiful cats, turtles and dogs. During the creative process, we talked about the anatomy and habitats of the animals. The parents, volunteers and teacher collaborated to make the class a huge success. The following reflections are testimony of the students’ achievements.
“For our family it is not just a pottery class. It is a life experience guided by beings of love and light, of unsurpassed human quality. It’s soothing to the soul to see the first group of girls blossom in this deeply spiritual art of pottery making. May there be many more girls and boys who will enroll and benefit from the class.”
—Isabel, mother of Mariana Cruz Caballer
“The basic clay workshop that my daughters Paula and Eva participated in was excellent. The girls created beautiful works and learned new ways of working with clay. Alicia, you are an excellent teacher and artist. Thank you for the empathy, sweetness and dedication with which you teach our children. It was a pleasure to meet you and we hope to see you next semester.”
—Lizbeth, mother of Paula Elena and Eva Camila Hernández Matos
“What a beautiful experience to have shared with these talented, supportive and loving girls and with a very committed, experienced teacher, respectful of the pace of development of each student. Alicia has definitely been very accurate in guiding each one’s development with so much love. “We will see each other next semester so we can continue learning the art of molding clay!!”
